Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival (PIMFF) is Pakistan’s only festival dedicated to mountain and adventure filmmaking. It is one of just three mountain film festivals in Asia and enjoys international recognition within the global mountaineering and film communities.

The festival was conceived and founded in 2015 by Wajahat Malik and Maryam Cheema with the vision of creating a shared platform where filmmakers, artists, mountaineers, and adventure enthusiasts could come together for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. A core focus of the festival has been to highlight and honor the lives, contributions, and stories of porters and Sherpa communities, often underrepresented in mainstream narratives.

Over the years, the Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival has established itself as an important global platform for promoting independent cinema in Pakistan, while also encouraging adventure, alpine culture, and responsible engagement with mountain environments.
